We are looking for talented & motivated team members who share our enthusiasm for biomolecular dynamics at the nanoscale. 

For PhD students, we have the following opportunities open until filled:

• PhD Position in Single-Molecule Biophysics using Nanopore Trapping; expected start: spring 2026.

Currently, we have no funded postdoc position available.

MSc thesis projects are available for local students from Basel, while we do occasionally host excellent students from other universities (no salaries are paid).

• Single-molecule kinetics extracted from FRET traces (computational comparison plus experiments)
• DyeCycling to overcome photo-bleaching in single-molecule FRET (e.g. reversible binder evaluation, fluorogenic probes, nanophotonics)
• Nanopore sensing of CRISPR second messengers
• Label-free protein trapping using nanopores
